Test Automation Developer – NI LabVIEW (m/f/d)

At MERECS Engineering, you’ll work with us to develop and implement innovative test systems and automation software for clients in sectors such as medical technology, the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, electronics, aerospace, and heating and air-conditioning technology.

As an NI Silver Partner, we specialise in NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand. With us, you won’t be working on off-the-shelf software, but on bespoke solutions for complex measurement and test tasks. We are a small, highly specialised team of engineers. Every developer takes responsibility and plays an active role in shaping solutions. Our clients come to us with challenging tasks – which is precisely why the work is always varied.

  • Application development: Independent implementation of challenging and interesting projects in the field of test automation
  • Architecture: Design and implementation of modular software architectures for sophisticated test systems (end-of-line, service life, and much more).
  • Programming in LabVIEW using modern best practices.
  • Integration of measuring instruments, PLCs, databases and interfaces into the LabVIEW development environment
  • Technical support within the project team
  • Commissioning and optimisation of test systems at the customer’s site (a few assignments per year)
  • Contributing to the preparation of quotations and providing technical advice to our customers on new projects

We are looking for people who

Must-haves

  • Experience in development using NI LabVIEW
  • Experience in structured software design and the development of complex applications
  • Knowledge of standard architectures (state machine, JKI tools, producer-consumer)
  • An independent, solution-oriented and structured approach to work
  • Very good command of German

Nice-to-have

  • Certification as CLD, CLA
  • Experience with object-oriented programming in LabVIEW
  • Knowledge of Python or C++
  • Experience with real-time systems, FPGAs or industrial bus systems (CAN, EtherCAT, Profinet)
  • Knowledge of Git, SQL or automated build processes
  • A degree or technical qualification in electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronics or a comparable field
  • Knowledge of: CAN, EtherCAT, OPC UA, CI/CD
